The Vegg French Toast!

I'm really started to like The Vegg and its versatility. I have made the recipe for French Toast that is printed on the packet twice now with a few slight modifications, and I have to say, it is really delicious. Easily the closest to egg-filled french Toast of any recipe I have tried. You will not be disappointed, I promise!

Serves 2

Ingredients:

3 tsp Vegg powder
1 C almond milk or other milk alternative
1/4 C fresh orange juice
Splash of Grand Marnier (optional)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
4 small slices sourdough bread (I used 2 large Trader Joe's cracked wheat sourdough, cut in half)
Pure maple syrup
Organic powdered sugar (optional)
Earth Balance

Blend Vegg, water, milk, orange juice and Grand Mariner if using in a blender for 15 seconds (Careful not to blend too long...it will get lumpy)
Transfer to shallow bowl
Dip bread slice in mixture for 10-20 seconds on each side
Fry in lightly oiled, heavy-bottom pan until golden-brown, flip and cook other side
Transfer to a plate and garnish with Earth Balance, maple syrup and powdered sugar

SO GOOD! Surprisingly rich and filling too. Remember, a little goes a long way with The Vegg! Enjoy!

The nutritional values of The Vegg are pretty great considering how closely it mimics an egg...
Serving size: 1/2 tsp (33 per packet...woo-hoo!)

  2. That's awesome that you're making the switch! If you ever need any advice, let me know!
As far as I know it's not at Whole Paycheck yet. I order it from veganessentials.com It's about $2 cheaper than Amazon. It's really good. VERY eggy! :)

    1. It is made from nutritional yeast, black salt, beta carotine and sodium alginate. You constitute it with either almond, soy or coconut milk or water.
